All Set

I got all the kids costumes ready to be worn on Halloween.  Only one of the four was homemade this year, and that made it SO MUCH easier!

Carving

All four kids did much of the carving this year.  We helped Cru and Kate a little, but Seth and Hannah did their very own.  Our kids are getting way too big!

Halloween Cupcakes

My mom made cupcakes for the kids to frost and decorate when we came over on Sunday.  (and also, Cru clearly needs a haircut!)

Save a Sister 10k

We ran the Save A Sister 10k this morning.  Jess joined us in honor of her mother, who she lost to breast cancer in January.  Ryan met us at the finish line.  It was a great run, and it felt great to run for a reason!

Adelaide: 12 hours old

I got to meet Miss Adelaide on the very day of her birth and take some pictures of her.  She is an adorable, sweet little thing, who already has some chunk on her.  Pleased to meet you, Adelaide!

Pie Eating Contest

At pack meeting, the boys got to have a pie-eating contest.  Seth was not nearly the fastest, but he was definitely the messiest!

Thinking Pink

Ryan went in for her surgery today.  So I put on my pink and waited for the phone call telling me that she was out, and everything had gone well.  Fight for Ryan!

Fruit Snacks

Cru's fruit snack, and my fruit snack.  Yum.

 

Spider Hat

Cru made this spider hat at preschool.  He was SUPER proud of it, and was really goofy when I was trying to get pictures.  OH well, I love his goofy looks, too!

cattails

We visited Grandpa and Grandma, and Grandpa had a surprise for us.  He had collected some cattails while out hunting, and he showed the kids how they completely exploded into millions of seeds.  They stuck to our clothes, got in our mouths, and created a serious fog for a few minutes.  The kids LOVED it!  This picture is when the kids first grabbed their cattail and squeezed.  The next pictures are so covered in seeds that you can hardly see anything, so I chose to use this one. 

The Space Between

It was our first run together after the marathon...but we were missing Ryan.  And the gap between us was all too real.  I hope that this year goes by quickly so that the balance can be restored again!

Cookie party

We decorated cookies at Ethan and Alison's house.  Cru spent a lot of time getting his ghost just right.  And sooooooooo sugary!

Looks comfy

It was super late, and I went to go to bed and noticed the light on in the boys room.  This is how Cru was sleeping.  Looks comfy, eh?

Training begins

These are the first couple of weeks of the training program set up by Rafael.  So excited to see how this thing goes.  I want to work on some more muscle groups, besides just the ones I use when running!

Chinese Acrobats

I know that you can't really see anything in this picture, but it's the only picture I have of the day.  Hannah and I went with my parents to a concert for the Senior Games.  Hannah got credit for attending in her choir class.  The musical part was crappy, but the opening act was a group of Chinese acrobats, and they were awesome!

It was another beautiful day on the farm.  It's a definite MUST every fall!

Sprinkler lines dug!

We had been waiting for weeks for the guy to come and dig our sprinkler lines.  It was such a happy surprise to come home late one night and see that he finally had.  I took this picture the next morning.  Progress!

Favorite picture of the season

I just love this picture.  The focused look on Seth's face.  And the terrified look on the other guys face.  I hate to be this way, but that kid was such a smug little snot, that it makes this picture all the better.  They were such a cocky team, and it felt great when our boys beat them!  Especially since Seth scored one of the goals.

Senior Night

We are so proud of Tirsa!  She is an amazing soccer player, and it has been fun watching her play all these years!  Congratulations, Tirs!

Catching Up.

It is such a pain to have to load 2 months of pictures at once, but for some reason I have had such a hard time keeping up on blogging my 365 pictures. 

Look Mom!

Cru was waiting for me to open the garage, and then he said, "Look mom!"  And this is what he was doing.  Amazingly enough, I had my camera in my hand right then, so I took this.  He was very proud of himself, but it triggered the automatic shut down on the garage, so it was a one-time thing.  He still talks about it. 

Pinterest Fail

It seemed like such a good idea, but the end result was not so great.  Oh well, the kids loved it, so that's good, right?

Lehi's Dream

We did a FHE lesson on Lehi's Dream.  Hannah was kind enough to draw the diagrams as we read from the scriptures.  This was the end result.

The Annual Visit to the Leaves

This was the first time we stopped at this bridge on our annual Cedar Mountain trip.  It ended up being another great visit to the leaves!

The Marathon

23 miles into our 26.2!  Alison took this picture as we dropped into St. George.  I was so happy to see family cheering us on. 

best friends and family ever!

I received so many texts and facebook messages and phone calls wishing me well.  In addition to all the love, my friend Kaysie came by with the root beer that said, "I'll be rooting for you" and my neighbor Mary brought by homemade bread.  I am so lucky to have such amazing friends and family!!

Marathon on the mind.

I watched this video twice today, because pretty much all I can think about is the marathon.  Only two days away!

Awesome Shirts

We got together tonight to paint our marathon shirts.  The text was designed by my sister-in-law Heather.  They turned out great! 

Finally!

Cru has never had the motivation to try and learn to write.  He would refuse any time I tried to work with him.  Until sometime this summer when he would finally give it a shot.  It made me so happy to walk in and find him writing his name all by himself!
